Melissa M. Abramsky

Attorney

Melissa Abramsky practices in the areas of criminal defense and habeas corpus law. She is admitted to the practice of law in the State of Connecticut and the State of Florida.

Melissa joined the firm in October 2023. Before joining the firm, she worked as an assistant public defender with the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office before transitioning to private defense work. During law school, she served as a staff editor of the Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights and Social Justice and as the Advocacy Director of the Cardozo Chapter of the Unemployment Action Center. She participated in the Cardozo Criminal Defense Clinic (in partnership with the Legal Aid Society) and the Gertrud Mainzer Family Defense Clinic (in partnership with The Bronx Defenders). She also worked as an intern at the Connecticut Fair Housing Center. She was awarded the INSPIRE! Community Impact Public Service Award in 2019.

Melissa received a Juris Doctor degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2020 and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from East Carolina University in 2017.
